so a lot of people have either been getting really upset at me or praising me for the lightweight angry diatribe i posted earlier. but after a lot of discussion with a lot of people, i’ve definitely come to agree with you, mallory. it would be dishonest of me to say that the instant and thus seemingly short-lived profusion of “KONY 2012!” everywhere annoyed me, but one thing i can honestly say is that i strongly, seriously, and profoundly hope that something substantial and effective can be done for the repugnance occurring in Uganda. though i don’t quite know how i’m going to go about it yet, i am definitely going to do my best to do something substantial for victims of the LRA, whether it be via money donation or a letter to Congress or what have you; whether it be through the Kony campaign or not. everything aside, one thing i will always strongly support is solidarity and empathy (i mean, who doesn’t want to give children the chance to be children?), so i truly hope that everybody does something for some cause, kony-backed or not.
